Importance of nutrition for athletes
On the court, it’s all about balance, and the same goes for what you eat and drink.
To help young athletes and visitors at the EU TeqGames Open Day make better choices, we created an easy-to-follow leaflet with basic nutrition tips.
Good ideas – what you can eat and drink:
- Water is your best friend. If you want to make it more interesting, add a bit of fruit for natural flavour.
- Smart snacks matter – apple slices, carrots, bananas, nuts, yoghurt… all fuel that keeps you going.
- Need something quick and practical? Try trail mix, granola bars, whole grain crackers – just make sure they’re not loaded with sugar.
Not-so-good ideas – what to avoid:
- Sugary and artificially flavoured drinks won’t do you any favours.
- Typical snacks like chips, cookies and candy might give you a quick boost, but they’ll crash your energy just as fast.
And one more thing:
Using reusable bottles and food containers isn’t just good for you – it’s good for the planet too.
We’re not here to set strict rules, we just want to help you make better choices that support your energy, recovery, and overall wellbeing.
With the right fuel, every training, match or school day gets easier and better.
