EU Teq Games Project Kicks Off!

The project aims to promote a healthy lifestyle, physical activity, and gender equality in sports through the introduction of a new sport, Teqball.

Teqball involves the use of a curved table known as a teqtable. The main sport played is a variation of football (Teqball), which the project will focus on deeply. However, it also promotes the use of the teqtable, designed to facilitate various multi-sport disciplines, including Teqvoly (derived from volleyball), Teqpong (derived from ping pong), Teqis (derived from tennis), and Qatch (derived from handball).

The goal is to promote physical activity through different sports played on a single common table.

Teqball is an inclusive sport as the specific design of the table facilitates play for athletes with physical disabilities. The spatial requirements for Teqsports are minimal, allowing any club to find space to set up the table.

The project aims to increase knowledge about the sport from a transnational perspective by providing official online courses for trainers in partner sports clubs, teaching them the rules of Teqball and how to play. Trainers will be certified by FITEQ (International Federation of Teqball). Once the trainers are certified, and to ensure the sustainability and continuity of the project and its results, as well as a strong European identity, two European events will be held during the project’s duration (one each year), known as the “EURO TEQ GAMES“.

The project starts on February 1, 2023, and ends on July 31, 2025.
