Desk research phase completed – report coming soon!
The first research milestone of the STAY project is complete! Partners from across Europe have worked together to map existing knowledge, strategies, and policies related to youth dropout in sport.
This phase was led by the University of Cassino (UNICAS) and included input from all project partners. The focus areas were:
- Key reasons why teenagers drop out of sport
- Existing initiatives aimed at athlete retention
- Gaps in support systems for athletes, coaches, and parents
- New opportunities for solutions within grassroots sport
The upcoming Desk Research Report will summarise all findings and highlight best practices and frameworks from different contexts. It will also serve as the foundation for the next phases of the STAY project – focus groups, pilot actions, and the creation of educational content.
Full report will be published soon on the official STAY project website – stay tuned!
